Shoreline
Course (semi-private)
1100 Pelican Dr
New Bern, NC 28560
(252)514-0050, fax (252)514-2288This club has two regulation
eighteen hole courses. The
terrain on the fairways is
crowned, and the small greens
are undulating. A difficult
hole is #3, a 517-yard, par
5, featuring a sharp dogleg
right fairway with water sitting
at the turn. Players can attempt
to hit the green in two, but
if they come up short they'll
hear a splash. The Harbour
Point Golf Links Course offers
small greens and tight fairways.
The course was designed to
play alongside Broad Creek,
and water hazards (six ponds)
come into play on seven holes.
The fairways are tree lined
and very flat because there
are no changes in elevation.
The wind is sometimes a factor
in the late afternoons. Every
green is protected by strategically-placed
sand bunkers. The most difficult
hole is probably #11, a 493-yard,
par 5, featuring a narrow
landing area with water on
the left. On the approach
players must avoid two other
small ponds to hit the small
green. The phone number for
the Harbour Point Course is

The Links
885 Adams Creek Rd
Havelock, NC 28532
(252)444-4653
Opened in early 1998, The Links
is a USGA–regulation size, 18-hole,
par 72 course with a total of
6500 yards from the championship
tees. Golfers play on a combination
of continuous single and double
fairways, with nine holes returning
to the clubhouse. The course's
topography is basically level,
but a few major slope changes
take advantage of the natural
ridges and valleys that enhance
the beauty of the pine and hardwood
roughs. Surrounding many greens
are bunkers composed of moderately
packed loose sand, 4 to 5 inches
deep. Several ponds, lakes and
canals offer additional challenges
to players.
The Links is open year round,
seven days a week, from sun
up to sun down. The club has
a pro shop, a clubhouse and
a large practice putting green
and driving range. Tee areas
are well-marked with signs that
note yardage and describe each
hole.
Fees to play 18 holes, including
cart, are $23 on weekdays and
$28 on weekends and holidays
year round. On Wednesday, folks
can play for $18. If you chose,
you may walk the course for
$15 during the week and $18
on Saturday and Sunday. The
Links offers a pro shop and
snack bar. Call for tee times.
