Downtown Historic District
One of North Carolina’s most historic port cities, New Bern features many significant Georgian, Federal, Romantic Revival and Victorian-period houses and public buildings. Palatial homes and bungalows blend with newly constructed condos boarding the Neuse River, all within walking distance of the restored shops, restaurants and marinas on the Trent River. Prices range from the $200,000’s for renovation projects upward to $1 Million. The waterfront townhomes are in the mid $600,000's.
Ghent Historic District and Trolley Run
Featuring bungalows and larger homes built in the early 1900’s through the 1950’s, this family neighborhood is the newest of New Bern’s three historic districts on the National Register of Historic Neighborhoods. This community is within walking distance of the YMCA with indoor and outdoor pools, basketball, track, and fitness areas. Ghent was once assessable to the downtown area by trolley car. Trolley Run, bordering Ghent, features newer construction .Prices range from the $90,000 through the low $200,000's.

Brices Creek Area
Located southwest of New Bern and south of the Trent River, a variety of subdivisions offer lifestyle options as the area is heavily treed and borders the Croatan National Forest. Hunter’s Ridge, Lake Clermont, Oakview, River Trace, Rock Creek Farms, Deer Run, Reedy Creek, and the Home Place offer country ambience with only a short commute to downtown New Bern. Home prices vary from $175,000 on interior locations up to $900,000 on the waterfront.
Carolina Colours
A planned subdivision located in the Hwy 70 East corridor 4 miles from New Bern, this community is in the early stages of development with 1800 homes projected on 2000 wooded acres. Complimenting the neighborhood will be a community pavilion, golf course, small commercial area and town center-a village. Lot prices range from $75,000 to $175,000. Prices for homes and lot range from $250,000 up.

Fairfield Harbour
A 3000 acre gated resort is located 20 minutes from downtown New Bern featuring homes with backdoor boat dockage and access to the Neuse River, Oriental, and the ICW. Two 18-hole golf courses and two area marinas make for a popular community for the retiree to settle. Options include single family homes from the $190,000’s, condominiums, townhouses, and timeshare condos for the vacationer. Waterfront homes are upward to $600,000. Lots range from $16,000 to $60,000 depending on location.
Greenbrier
This city subdivision is located in close proximity to shopping, a medical complex, post office, restaurants, and speciality shops and only a few minutes from Hwy 70 and the downtown historic district. Home to retirees and families alike, this premier neighborhood features 550 homes on 700 acres. Lakes and tall pines characterize the homesites surrounding the Emerald Golf Club and its 18 hole championship golf course, olympic pool, and lighted tennis courts. Single family homes , mainly of brick construction, sit on 1/2 acre lots while smaller patio style homes and townhomes offer low maintenance and yard upkeep. Prices range from the low $200,000's upwards to the $600,000's.

Olde Towne Lake Harbour
This prestigious waterfront community with all city services surrounds a beautiful lake with a canal leading into the Trent River and open water. Most homes have boat dockage and beautiful views. Along with the mainly custom homes ranging from the $300,000's and riverfront townhomes from the $450,000's are statley mansions overlooking the lake up to $1 million. Families and retirees enjoy this seclued, walking neighborhood with convenience to all city amenities.
Trent Woods
Bordering the upscale, waterfront New Bern Golf & Country Club with its 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, pool and fitness center are several neighborhoods with distinctive character. Located on tree-lined streets nestled into a landscape of mature trees and plantings, these neighborhoods have grown since the 1950's. Therefore, each decade has representative architecture. Fox Hollow,with its ranch style homes,offers young families and retirees afforable opportunities beginning in the $130,000's. Country Club Hills ,built in the 60's and 70's is the "grand dame" of the older mature neighborhood pricing in the $250,000's. Wilson Creek on scenic Wilson Creek is also a mature neighborhood with homes ranging from the $200,000's upward to $600,000 depending on location. age and size. Bellefern and exclusive Creek's End offer spacious custom homes priced to the $700,000's. Waterfront estates on the Trent River, if ever available, run over $1 million.

Taberna
Taberna, a first class golfing community on 1100 acres and 3 miles off Hwy 70 East from the downtown center, features an 18-hole championship golf course and a beautiful clubhouse modeled after the Castle of Nydegg in Bern Switzerland. Pedestrian trails, tennis courts, pool and canoe docks are amenities that compliment the natural beauty of lakes, streams and wetlands. Patio homes, golf lot homes and larger wooded parcels offer the homeowner a choice of investment from the $200,000's up to $600,000's. Evans Mill and Gables Run closeby have the same pricing, but with country-like charm on larger sites.
River Bend
A separate township of 1200 acres with its own government, yet still New Bern, is a seasoned neighborhood with duplexes, patio homes, townhomes and single family homes all dotted along winding canals that lead into the Trent River. A new marina and clubhouse and a newly restored semi-private golf club and pool caters to diverse tastes in homes and activities. The Harbour Town Racquet Club and an 18-hole golf course are frequented by the active retiree. Pricing varies according to type home and location. Small duplexes and some along the canal begin in the $80,000's. Trent River homes here are considerably higher.

Neuse Harbour & River Bluffs
Wooded waterfront homes sit high on a bluff affording a panoramic view of the Neuse River and downtown New Bern five miles away. These mainly custom homes run up to $900,000's. The interior homes are from the $250,000's.
This neighborhood borders the 155 acre Croatan National Forest. Closeby are several smaller subdivisions with very affordable housing.
